Experienced guide for all ages and cultural backgrounds.

After studying History at Leeds University, I embarked on a career of teaching English and History in the Far East and UK. This experience has honed my ability to pass on well researched information, in a friendly and stimulating manner, to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

I now delight in taking visitors round specific sites, as reflected in my capacity as an accreditied York Minster Guide, as well as conducting wider walking tours and delivering coach commentaries. Having been an Associate Lecturer in English for the Open University and Taiwan National University, I particularly enjoy guiding round the academic cities of Leeds, Sheffield and York, highlighting historical, architectural and cultural features.

Living in the picturesque market town of Knaresborough, I also love showing off the delights of my immediate surroundings and neighbouring Harrogate, famous as an exquisite spa/conference town with outstanding Georgian/Victorian architecture and up market shopping.

Having travelled extensively through the years, I am particularly familiar with people from Asian, North American and European backgrounds. I guide in English, but can speak conversational Mandarin. When advanced Mandarin is required, I liaise with my well qualified and experienced Chinese interpreter.
