Fees

Guiding rates 2022/23

Our guiding fees are set in line with those recommended by the British Guild of Tourist Guides. However, each guide is free to negotiate their own rate within the given range according to the client’s requirements and in consideration of other factors such as travelling distance, duration, specialist knowledge and language spoken.

For the services of a guide on a walking tour, or in a coach or other vehicle provided by the client:
Full-day rate (4 to 9 hours) minimum £290 – this increases to £300 from 1st April 2023.
Half-day rate (up to 4 hours) minimum £180 – this increases to £190 from 1st April 2023.

Driver-guiding rates, which include the provision of an appropriately licensed and insured vehicle, mileage and parking/toll charges, are in the range of £500–£660 (full day) and £350–£450 (half-day) within Yorkshire. For tours out of the county, expect to pay between £550 and £595 per day.

For foreign language tours, there is likely to be an extra charge of around £50 for a full-day tour and £30 for a half-day tour.

For unsociable hours, there may be an additional charge of between £40 and £70 per hour.
