I grew up just south of the Humber and moved to my husband’s native Yorkshire when we were married. My early career was in the food industry then I worked in catering and hospitality for the National Trust and later in customer support at British Airways, always giving a high level of customer care.

My first work as a tourist guide was on the open top bus in York in the 1990s – I loved the freedom from the office! I’ve been working in tourism ever since, and have taught Travel and Tourism, Tourist Guiding techniques and customer service skills at a local college.

I have been lucky enough to be able to qualify as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide , firstly in the North East of England and now Yorkshire. This takes me all over this fantastic region, and it really does feel like the best job in the world!

My main work recently has been in group travel and I have extensive experience of planning and preparing group tours, itinerary planning, familiarisation trips, local destination training, cruise ship tours and conference work.

The past few summers have seen me leading short guided walking holidays too, nothing too strenuous but a great way of exploring the region more deeply.

I enjoy working with college and school groups and I am happy to work with teachers to help plan school tours.

Please get in touch to find out how I can help make your Yorkshire trip one to remember.
