Exclusive tours of Stately Homes and Country House Estates are my speciality having worked and studied in many across the UK during my career in Heritage and the care of Listed Buildings. I would now like to share with you the real living and breathing Downton Abbeys of Yorkshire. We have so many for you to see!

Some are world-famous such as Castle Howard, some are in the care of the National Trust and others are in private family hands, unheard of outside Yorkshire and not open to the general public but all are equally as intriguing.

Downton Abbey is set in North Yorkshire and although not filmed here, we can also follow in the footsteps of the characters who regularly visit the beautiful cities and towns on our doorstep such as York, Ripon, Richmond and Thirsk.

No trip to Yorkshire would be complete without a visit to the stunning Baroque mansion of Castle Howard, home to the Howard family for the last 300 years and known to millions across the globe as Brideshead from the TV Series “Brideshead Revisited. I am lucky enough to live in a cottage on the Castle Howard Estate so it is literally in my backyard and part of my daily life. Let me use my insider knowledge to show you the hidden corners that others don’t know about!
